 “Green” and Other Achievements: Strategic Policy committee member for the Environment in Waterford city. Member of Council panel to visit incinerators in Denmark and Sweden. Instigated first tree management policy for Waterford City Council. Chair of successful campaign to expose Herhof pre-incinerator waste processing plant planned for waterford port. Part of successful campaign to save the Fennessy oak from extinction.

Interesting Fact: Whilst in the Merchant Marine, Travelled the world including motorcycle tour of Australia, Japan and Trans Siberian Express from Tokyo to Waterford City. (1981)
